When upgrading your processing lines with new ThinkTop ® unit and achieving up to 90% savings on water, energy and chemicals - you may wonder: What happens to the old units?
Through our ThinkCircularity initiative, we collect, disassemble and recycle old ThinkTops to ensure that valuable materials are reused or recycled. This way, your upgrade not only improves operational efficiency but also supports a more circular approach.

Every unit counts
An increasing number of older ThinkTop models are being replaced to improve efficiency. This calls for a renewed focus on what to do with the old ThinkTops.
“Every unit counts in this effort to make our industry more resource efficient”, says Inger Bygum, Head of Sustainability at Alfa Laval Hygienic Fluid Handling and Heat Transfer Technologies.
“While we know that recycling old ThinkTops is just a small drop in a vast ocean of circular opportunities, we encourage our customers to use the take-back scheme. This project provides valuable insights that can help us scale circular initiatives going forward.”
Currently, the initiative covers selected European countries, as well as shipments of more than 100 units from outside Europe.
